I'm Laldaes — a cinematographer based in Nairobi, Kenya. I work in music, brand, and documentary, mostly with people whose work I already pay attention to.
My approach is built around natural light, hand-held intimacy, and a refusal to over-direct the moment. I'd rather be in the room early, watch what's actually happening, and let the camera arrive when the scene is already there.
I came up shooting performance work for Frequency Made — long sessions, low contrast, learning by repetition. The MJO Living films pulled me toward stillness and interior rhythm. Most of what I do now sits between those two languages.
